How to Play Holy Staff in Albion Online

"The Holy Staff is the premier single-target and reactive healing weapon line in Albion Online. Holy healers excel at keeping individual targets alive through massive bursts of raw healing power and protective shields. They are the backbone of any competitive PvP team."

⚖️

Pros and Cons

Advantages

  • Highest raw burst healing in the game
  • Strong single-target protection
  • Excellent clear-casting through interrupts
  • Essential for almost all group content

Disadvantages

  • Most abilities are stationary casts
  • Highly vulnerable to being focused/interrupted
  • Requires excellent positioning
  • Very limited self-defense
💡

Gameplay Tips

  • 1

Use Holy Orb (W) to heal your team from a safe distance.

  • 2

Holy Explosion (Great Holy E) is a massive defensive tool that heals while knocking back enemies.

  • 3

Pay attention to your team's defensives; don't overheal a target who is already immune.

  • 4

Always have a "get out" plan (like Hallowfall E or a blink).

Best Armor Pairings

Cleric Robe

The industry standard for healers to survive dives.

Graveguard Helmet

For an instant "sacrifice" heal to save a dying ally.

Mistwalker Jacket

For the "immutability" window to survive heavy focus.

Weapon Variants

1h Holy Staff

5v5 Single Target Saves

The classic healer weapon. Its E (Desperate Prayer) heals a massive amount instantly, increasing by over 40% if the target is below 40% health. The ultimate bailout weapon.

Hallowfall

Mists & High-Tier Mobility

An incredibly expensive and powerful weapon. Its E (Divine Intervention) causes you to leap into the air, becoming immune to damage, and smash down to both heal allies and knock up enemies. A healer with CC and mobility is overpowered.

Fallen Staff

ZvZ Group Healing

Drops a massive delayed healing circle (Salvation). It removes debuffs and heals everyone inside for a gigantic amount. It is mandatory for backline healing in large-scale Zerg vs Zerg fights.

Redemption Staff

Small Scale Bouncing Heals

Throws a magical sphere (Celestial Sphere) that literally bounces between injured allies, healing them instantly. Extremely effective in 5v5 arenas or Hellgates when the team is somewhat grouped.

Recommended Passives

Adrenaline Driven Charity

Increases your healing by a flat percentage every few spell casts. This is the undisputed best passive for Holy healers, as it significantly boosts your life-saving burst capability.

Magic Force

Every few attacks knocks the enemy back. Sometimes used defensively, but sacrificing raw healing power is rarely worth it.

Detailed Combos & Tactics

The 1v1 Survival Rotation (Hallowfall)

1

Keep Generous Heal (Q) ticking on yourself to out-sustain enemy damage.

2

If the enemy bruiser uses their boots to dive you, cast Holy Orb (W) to push them away.

3

If they close the gap again, use Divine Intervention (E) to jump straight up in the air, dodge their burst combo, and land on them for a knock-up, completely ruining their damage window.

The Graveguard Sacrifice Save

1

Notice an ally drop below 20% health while being focused.

2

Activate Graveguard Helmet (Sacrifice). This deals 15% of YOUR health as damage to yourself, but heals the ally for 15% of THEIR max health instantly.

3

Immediately follow up by targeting yourself with Desperate Prayer (E) or Generous Heal (Q) to recover the health you just lost.
